The National Transport Authority sets the fares in Ireland. The price in the app is an approximate fare to give a rough idea of the final cost which may vary depending on the type of vehicle chosen, the actual final destination, length, weather, traffic, road closures and market demand.
You can always find the fare details in the app's service section, and a comprehensive breakdown of the charges will be provided in the email invoice you receive after your trip is completed.
There is an initial charge on the meter when you enter any taxi:
- €4.20 between 08 - 20 hours from Monday to Saturday, except on public holidays
- €4.80 between 20 - 08 hours from Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sundays and public holidays
Extras:
-
€1 per extra passenger
-
€2 for any bookings placed via the app as per the NTA’s rates
-
For routes starting on Dublin’s M50, fares are more expensive (charged by distance, rather than time). These fares are often more expensive and have a toll fee added on top of the fare
-
Technology Fee: varies depending on the type of taxi service chosen (standard, prebooked, large vehicles/priority rides, etc.)
