Whether you're trying to coordinate a smoother pickup or retrieve a lost item, knowing how to connect with your driver and how they can find you is key.
How to contact your driver
- Before your trip starts
Once your trip is confirmed, you’ll see your driver’s details and can contact them in two ways:
📞 In-app call: Make sure the phone number linked to your FREENOW account matches the one you're using to place the call*.
💬 In-app chat: only available while the booking status is ‘Approaching’ or ‘Arrived’. You’ll receive push notifications for any unread messages. Once the trip begins, chat will be disabled.
Both options are available via the icons on the live trip screen.
- After your trip has ended
If you’ve left something behind or need to reach your driver, you can still contact your driver up to 7 days after your trip has ended:
- Open the app and go to the ‘Trips’ section at the bottom of the main menu
- Select the relevant trip
- Tap over the call icon
How to share your Live Location with the driver
To make pickups easier, you can share your real-time location with your driver as they approach. This ensures that every time a driver is on the way, they can easily locate you without delays, confusion and avoid unnecessary calls or messages.
📍When to share your Live Location
- As your driver is approaching, tap the live location icon on the trip screen.
- Your location will appear on the driver’s map while they’re en route to pick you up.
- You can stop sharing at any time with a single tap.
Want to keep Live Location always active?
To avoid doing it manually each time:
- Open the app and tap on ‘Account’
- Go to ‘Privacy Settings’
- Toggle on ‘Live Location’
