Ready to enjoy our multi-mobility services? That's great! You'll need to upload and validate your driving licence and ID first, whether you're renting a scooter, a bike, a car sharing vehicle or a moped. It's a quick, guided process that takes just a few minutes.
How to upload your documents
- Head to 'Account' in the bottom left of the Freenow app
- Tap your name to open the profile, then go to 'Documents'
- Add your driving licence* and ID. We don't accept provisional, digital or non-image documents. We've got to be strict for security, so we can only accept:
- Driving licences: Type B, in card format, issued by one of the European countries* and at least 1 year old.
- ID: European ID cards, European Passports or Residence permits with a photo ID.
- When prompted, take a clear photo of the front of your document
- Next, take a selfie of your face. We use this to verify it against your document photo (if you wear glasses, ensure your eyes are visible)
- Your documents will be validated by our partner, Onfido. We'll send you an app notification as soon as it's complete.
Why your documents might be rejected?
We'll always tell you the specific reason in the app with an orange warning.
Make sure your photos are super clear and legible: well-lit, no blur, and absolutely no reflection or glare.
You've got 3 attempts to repeat the validation process. If you exceed that, just contact us via the in-app chat and we'll help sort it out.
*Accepted issuing countries: UK, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
