Fares are defined according to the regulations of each city council and through integration with Google Maps calculate the cost of the trip based on time and distance:
The price shown in the app is an approximate value to give an estimated idea of the final cost. This will be defined according to the type of vehicle chosen (taximeter rate or fixed price), the final destination, duration, time of your trip, traffic, and market demand.
You can always find the rate details in the menu of the selected vehicle, and a complete breakdown of charges will also be provided in the invoice you receive by email once the trip is completed.
Keep in mind that Freenow may apply additional fees.
Taxi with Taximeter
Calculated by the car's taximeter in real-time. Sometimes, the final fare may be higher than this estimate due to unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, delays, weather conditions, accidents, etc.
Taxi Fixed Price*
Barcelona
Rate fixed price established by IMET with a minimum value of perception. The taximeter starts with Rate 3. Check the official document from IMET with the rates, here.
Madrid
Guarantees a fixed rate regulated by the Madrid City Council (T9) with a minimum value of perception. The taximeter is not started. Check the official document with the rates, here.
Taxi Maximum Price*
Alicante, Castellón, Málaga, Sevilla, and Valencia
Guarantees a maximum price for trips paid via the app. If the taximeter amount is higher than the one guaranteed by Freenow, you will pay the app's amount; if the taximeter amount is lower, you will pay the taximeter amount. You will always pay the lowest price.
*These rates do not allow changes of destination or intermediate stops. For that, request a taxi with a taximeter rate.
