By choosing the Freenow GREEN service, you’re actively supporting urban mobility with a lower carbon footprint. Here’s what it’s all about:
What is the GREEN service?
The GREEN service was created with the environment in mind. In Poland, it mainly includes hybrid vehicles and – to a lesser extent – fully electrified vehicles. These cars offer higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions compared to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.
Real Emission Reduction
Vehicles in the Green service on Freenow emit, on average, 21% less greenhouse gases compared to the average for all cars available on the Freenow platform. The emissions calculation is based on Freenow’s methodology*, taking into account:
- The share of vehicle models in the Green fleet compared to other services,
- The number of trips completed by each specific vehicle model,
- The length of those trips and the distance to pick up the passenger,
- Emissions parameters of specific car models, including powertrain type, based on data from the “Monitoring of CO₂ emissions from passenger cars Regulation (EU) 2019/631” maintained by the European Environment Agency.
*Calculation based on trip data from all vehicles in the Freenow fleet in Poland from January 1, 2025, to May 25, 2025.
