How do I unlock the scooter and start my rental?
- Open the Freenow app and go to the 2-Wheels tab
- Select a nearby scooter or scan its QR code using the app
- Review the scooter details (ID, battery level, pricing) by scrolling up
- Confirm your payment method and enter any promo code
- Add and verify your driving license
- Complete the safety quiz and agree to the Terms & Conditions
- Slide to start your rental and enjoy the ride!
Can I pause my scooter rental?

Yes! Pause for up to 2 hours. You'll be charged per minute. After 2 hours, the rental ends automatically. To resume, click "Unlock" in the app.

Yes! Pause for up to 1 hour. The scooter will be locked. You’ll still pay the per-minute rate. Always pause in a “P” zone to avoid auto-ending or fines after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Bird
To pause an active trip, enable the Lock option in the application. The vehicle will be reserved for a maximum of 75 minutes and you will continue to be charged at the per-minute rate.
Where and how do I end my scooter rental?
- Park in a designated *Parking Zone* (blue 'P' 🔵) to avoid fines. Remember that it is strictly forbidden to park in the red or grey zones
- In the app, select “End rental” and follow the prompts, including taking a photo of the parked scooter
- Make sure your scooter is not blocking pavements, lanes, bike paths, garage exits and any other access roads
