A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of money on your payment method at the time of submitting your travel request, or when renting one of our mobility services.
Thanks to the pre-authorisation process, we can inform you in advance in case you do not have sufficient funds to pay for the service and need to select a different payment method.
This movement can appear on your bank account as "Freenow*Temporary Auth", "FRN*Hold.Free-Now", "Pre -Auth", or even appear as a real movement.
Once the service is completed, FREE NOW will request the release of the held amount, which may take a few days, depending on your payment processor partner.
Note: A pre-authorisation will always be carried out for payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
