Where can I use the scooter?
We offer Dott scooters in Warsaw, Krakow, Tricity, Wroclaw, Katowice, Szczecin and Poznan.
To ensure your journey is safe, in the app you will see zones marked with different colors where you can use scooters.
These zones have been established in cooperation with local authorities based on availability, traffic intensity, infrastructure, demand, etc.
🔵 'Parking Zones' - designated parking spots (blue). Plan your trip before departure to find the best spot for proper parking.
🟡 'Go-Slow Zones' - areas with speed limits (yellow) - These are places where you must ride slowly as they require special attention (promenades, nursing homes, schools, etc.). Your scooter will automatically slow down.
🔴 'No-Go Zones' - No-parking zone (red) - It is not allowed to end the rental and park in this area. If you do so, you may receive a fine. Your scooter will automatically slow down and stop. To continue, you must exit this zone again.
⚫ 'No-Drive Zones' - no driving and parking allowed (gray color).
How to ride the scooter
Once you have started the rental, you can jump on the scooter. But, before every ride, do a safety check:
- Are the brakes working? Pump them to make sure
- Are the tyres undamaged? What about the overall scooter?
- Do the lights work?
To start, put your hands on the handlebars and step on the scooter with one foot and push off with the other to start moving.
Put your other foot on the footrest to hold a stable position, then press the right-hand throttle to speed up.
To turn, shift your body weight and turn the handle slightly.
To slow down and brake, release the throttle and gently press the brake levers on the handlebars. Avoid pressing the brakes too sharply, especially if travelling at high speeds.
Tip: If you scroll up the menu of the scooter selected, you will have all the instructions for 'How to guide'.
Why does my scooter slow down automatically?
If your scooter has automatically slowed down during the ride, it may be due to three different reasons:
- You have entered a speed restriction zone: Go-Slow Zones (yellow zones) - To comply with local regulations, the speed of your scooter is automatically limited to 12.87 km/h in these zones. Once you leave the Go-Slow Zone, your scooter should be able to ride at normal maximum speed.
- The scooter's battery level is low - If the vehicle has a low battery level (10%), it will gradually slow down until it stops. Remember to always check the energy level when choosing a scooter and before renting it.
- You have left the operational area - All areas marked on the map with gray zones are so-called "out of operation zones". Unlike speed-restricted zones, scooters cannot be used in these areas. Parking is also not allowed. If you do not return to the zone where scooter usage is permitted, the scooter will slow down until you stop. You may also experience issues with ending the ride in the app.
What to do if the scooter runs out of battery or experiences technical issues
The battery level of your scooter is visible both before starting the rental and during the ride. However, please note that this is only an estimated battery level and may change depending on weather or road conditions.
When the vehicle reaches 10% battery, it will gradually slow down until it stops.
If the battery is depleted, you must first go to a "Parking Zone," which is any designated parking area marked on the map with a blue 'P' 🔵 symbol.
Then tap the "End rental" button in the app and find another nearby scooter to start a new ride.
If you encounter any issues with ending the rental, please contact the selected scooter provider directly to end your ride:
