Am I insured when booking Carsharing via FREENOW?
Yes! All of your carsharing trips booked via the FREENOW app are fully covered by the usual insurance of each provider.
The insurance covers all occupants of the vehicle at the time of the accident or damage, provided that the traffic regulations and the Terms & Conditions are complied with. This includes the following coverage:
- Third-Party Liability
- Full Comprehensive
A deductible payment is required in the case of an accident where you are at fault. This means you will need to pay for any damage up to a maximum of the deductible amount. If an accident occurs, and you are not at fault, you will not be required to pay the fee.
Where should I report any damage to the Carsharing vehicle?
Before starting the rental and during it, it is necessary to report any damages directly to our Carsharing partners. The easiest way to report any damages is to send photos: a close-up photo and a wider one to show the extent of the damage in context. If the damage prevents you from driving the vehicle, call them immediately.

What happens if I break traffic rules during my Carsharing rental?
If you are caught breaking traffic rules, you will receive the official notification and be required to pay the fine amount and an additional administration fee.
Our partners will forward any traffic violations directly to you as the customer, and FREENOW will be notified as well.
What should I do if I have an accident in a Carsharing vehicle?
In case of an accident, please first ensure your safety, as well as the safety of other passengers in the vehicle and any other individuals involved.
If necessary, immediately call the police (17) or emergency services (112) and wait for the police to handle the accident. Make sure the situation is clarified.
Once safe, call our partner through the app or externally:
