‘Round up and donate’ is a new feature in the app that allows you to round up your journey to the nearest euro when you travel with us. We then donate the difference to the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) wish list.
How does it work?
If you have activated the ‘Round up and donate’ function and your trip costs €10.64, you pay €11 and we donate the additional €0.36 directly to the ASB's Wünschwagen.
What if the total amount is already rounded?
If the total amount is already rounded (e.g. €10.00), no donation will be made.
If the total amount is €10.01, it will be rounded up and the final amount will be €11.00.
How do you activate it?
Activate the ‘Round up’ feature before booking:
- Go to your account page by clicking the button on the main screen
- Select ‘Round up and donate’
- Tap the switch on the right to activate the rounding up
You can also activate it on the go on the home screen.
Where will your money go?
Your money goes 100% to the ICRC, the Wishing Car. Seeing the sea again, experiencing your favourite band live, driving through your hometown one last time – the ASB wish wagon makes it possible. The specially equipped vehicles take people at the end of their lives to the place of their choice, well looked after. Volunteers from the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) accompany these trips with a lot of heart and commitment.

How is it shown on the invoices?
Donations are not shown on the invoices because we bill the trip in the name of the driver/partner who provides the service, while the donation is a contribution that has nothing to do with the trip.
Which payment methods are suitable for donations?
- Private means of payment: VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
- Credit cards that have the label ‘Business’ but are not linked to a Freenow business account.
