The fare structure in the Republic of Ireland is set by the National Transport Authority.
There is an initial charge on the meter when you enter any taxi in Ireland.
An Initial Charge of €3.80 applies between 08:00h and 20:00h Monday to Saturday, except public holidays
An Initial Charge of €4.20 Applies between 20:00h and 08:00h Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sundays and public holidays
- Each additional passenger adds €1 to the meter fare in extras.
- Any route taken on Dublin’s M50 is charged by distance, rather than time, so these fares are often more expensive
- A €2 booking fee is applied for any bookings placed via a smartphone app as per the NTA’s rates
Please see http://www.transportforireland.ie/fares/taxi/ for more information.
The estimates given in the app are an approximate fare, to give you a rough idea of the cost. These are just estimated as the final fare may vary depending on a number of factors such as the actual final destination, length of trip, weather, traffic, road closures, unforeseen conditions etc. The fare on the metre at the end of the trip is the correct and final fare.
