Once you push the “order” button in the app FREE NOW will perform a pre-authorisation. We perform the authorisation before a driver gets allocated to ensure that no driver will be allocated a trip that gets cancelled due to a failed payment.
FREE NOW pre-authorises your payment method to make sure that it's valid, and has sufficient funds available to pay for the trip you've requested.
Unfortunately, this means that FREE NOW might have performed an authorisation, even if the trip wasn't seen through. When this is the case FREE NOW release the authorisation from our system within 30 minutes.
