When you order an eScooter on FREE NOW, for security purposes we often pre-authorise your card £2, whether the rental is completed or not. A pre-authorisation is not a charge but a reserved amount on your card. The pre-authorisation may show as a "pending" charge on your account's payment method. If the trip is completed the pre-authorisation is converted into a charge to your bank account or credit card for the actual total amount of the rental.
If your rental is cancelled without charge, FREE NOW quickly voids the pre-authorisation. When a pre-authorisation is voided, it may take a few days to a week for you to see the pending line transaction on your bank statement disappear. The time it takes depends on your bank's policy, so if you would like to enquire about a specific transaction on your statement, please contact your bank directly.
