You found an item
In the event that you find a lost item in your taxi, we will try to help you return it to the passenger. To do this:
- Go to the 'Trips' section on the menu of your app
- Locate the service on which the passenger left an object in your taxi
- Click on the Help button at the top right and leave a comment informing us about the incident
Due to Data Protection Policy, we need your written permission to give your phone number to the passenger, so that they can contact you to arrange the return of their belongings
If you return the lost item to TfL's Lost Property Enquiry service or your local police station, please let us know by contacting our Driver Care Team, so we can inform the passenger.
The passenger claims an item
- Up to 7 days after the trip
If a passenger has left something inside your vehicle, they'll be able to contact you through the app, up to 7 days after the trip ends.
Note that this phone service is anonymised, so the passenger will not have access to your real contact number.
We'd recommend that you and the passenger arrange a mutually convenient time and place to return the item.
If you're unable to arrange a drop-off of the item with the passenger, please, return the lost item to TfL's Lost Property Enquiry service or your local police station, and let us know, so we can inform the passenger.
- More than 7 days after the trip
In case a passenger reports a lost item indicating the trip details, you may receive an email and text message from our Not Lost platform.
