Where can I use the scooter?
We offer Voi and Dott scooters in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Roubaix, Saint Quentin, and Marseille. Dott scooters are not available in Paris.
To ensure the safety of your journey, you will see in the application different color-coded zones for the correct use of the scooter. These zones have been decided with the support of local authorities and based on accessibility, traffic intensity, infrastructure, demand, etc.
🔵 'Parking Zone' - Designated parking zones (blue 'P'). Plan your trip before leaving to find the best place to park correctly.
🟡 'Go-Slow Zone' - Reduced speed zones (yellow) - These are areas where you need to ride slowly as extra attention is required (play streets, retirement homes, schools, etc.). Your scooter will automatically slow down.
🔴 'No-Go Zone' - No parking zone (red) - It is forbidden to end your rental and park here. If you do, you risk receiving a fine. Your scooter will slow down and stop automatically. To continue, you must leave the zone again.
⚫ 'No-Service Zone' - Riding and parking are prohibited (gray).
How to ride the scooter
Once you have started the rental, you can jump on the scooter. But, before every ride, do a safety check:
- Are the brakes working? Pump them to make sure
- Are the tyres undamaged? What about the overall scooter?
- Do the lights work?
To start, put your hands on the handlebars and step on the scooter with one foot and push off with the other to start moving.
Put your other foot on the footrest to hold a stable position, then press the right-hand throttle to speed up.
To turn, shift your body weight and turn the handle slightly.
To slow down and brake, release the throttle and gently press the brake levers on the handlebars. Avoid pressing the brakes too sharply, especially if travelling at high speeds.
Tip: If you scroll up the menu of the scooter selected, you will have all the instructions for 'How to guide'.
Why does my scooter slow down automatically?
If your scooter has automatically slowed down during a trip, it may be due to 3 different reasons:
- You entered a speed limitation zone: Go-Slow Zone (yellow) - To comply with local regulations, in these zones, your scooter's speed is automatically limited to 12.87 km/h (8 miles per hour). Once you have left the Go-Slow zone, your scooter should be able to travel at the normal maximum speed.
- The scooter's battery level is low - If the vehicle has a low battery (10%), it will start to gradually slow down until it stops. Always remember to check the energy level when choosing the scooter and before renting it.
- You have exited the commercial zone - All areas marked in gray on the map are what we call "out of the commercial zone" areas. Unlike speed limitation zones, scooter use is not allowed in these areas. Parking is also not allowed in these areas. If you do not return to an area where scooter use is allowed during this time, the scooter will slow down until you stop. You may also have trouble completing your trip on the app.
What to do if the scooter runs out of battery or experiences technical issues
The remaining battery of your scooter is indicated in the app before and during your rental. Remember that this is an estimate and may change depending on real conditions, such as weather and road conditions.
When the vehicle has only 10% battery left, it will gradually slow down until it stops.
If your battery is empty, you must first go to a 'Parking Zone', which is any parking area indicated on the map by a 'blue' 🔵 'P'.
Simply press " End rental " in the app. Then, find a new scooter nearby and start a new journey.
If you have trouble ending the rental, contact our scooter provider directly so they can close the service for you:
