Where can I use the scooter?
In Spain, we are in Madrid, Sevilla, Málaga, Barcelona, and Tarragona.
To ensure that your journey is safe when riding your scooter, you will see different colored zones in the app for the correct use of the vehicle.
These zones have been decided with the support of local authorities based on their accessibility, traffic intensity, infrastructure, demand, etc.
🔵 Parking Zone - Designated parking areas ('P' blue). Plan your trip before leaving to find the best spot and park properly.
🟡 Reduced Speed Zone - Areas with reduced speed (yellow). These are areas where you need to drive slowly due to requiring extra attention (promenades, nursing homes, schools, etc.). Your scooter will automatically move slower.
🔴 No Parking Zone - It is prohibited to end your rental and park here (red). Doing so may result in a fine.
⚫ No Circulation Zone - No driving or parking allowed (gray).
How to ride the scooter
Once you have started the rental, you can jump on the scooter. But, before every ride, do a safety check:
- Are the brakes working? Pump them to make sure
- Are the tyres undamaged? What about the overall scooter?
- Do the lights work?
To start, put your hands on the handlebars and step on the scooter with one foot and push off with the other to start moving.
Put your other foot on the footrest to hold a stable position, then press the right-hand throttle to speed up.
To turn, shift your body weight and turn the handle slightly.
To slow down and brake, release the throttle and gently press the brake levers on the handlebars. Avoid pressing the brakes too sharply, especially if travelling at high speeds.
Tip: If you scroll up the menu of the scooter selected, you will have all the instructions for 'How to guide'.
Why does my scooter slow down automatically?
If your scooter has automatically reduced speed during a journey, it may be due to 3 different reasons:
- You have entered a speed limit zone: Reduced speed zones (yellow) - To comply with local regulations, in these areas the speed of your scooter is automatically limited to 8 miles per hour (12.87 km/h). Once you leave this area, your scooter should be able to travel at normal maximum speed.
- The scooter's battery level is low - If the vehicle has low battery (10%), it will gradually reduce speed until it stops. Remember to always check the energy level when selecting the scooter before renting it.
- You have left the operating zone - All areas marked in gray on the map are known as "out of service zone". Unlike speed limit zones, scooter use is not allowed in these areas. Parking is also not allowed in these areas. If you do not return to an area where scooter use is allowed during this time, the scooter will reduce speed until it stops. You may also have trouble completing your journey in the app.
What to do if the scooter runs out of battery or experiences technical issues
The remaining battery of your scooter is displayed in the app before and during your rental. Please note that this is an estimate and may vary depending on the weather or road conditions.
Once the scooter has only 10% battery left, it will gradually reduce speed until it stops completely.
If the battery is depleted, you should head to a 'Parking Zone', which is any designated and enabled area for parking marked on the map with a blue 🔵 'P'.
Then, simply select "End rental" in the app and look for a new scooter nearby to continue your journey.
